Chenard & Walcker Type U3 15CV Sport. 1923. Winner.

The start of it all. The very first Le Mans. Ironically, the winning drivers André Lagache and René Léonard received no trophy at the end of the race. The inaugural event was the first 'leg' of a triennial trophy - the Coupe Rudge-Whitworth. This was supposedly an attempt to encourage competitors to come back for the next 2 years.
