Ford GT40 Mk II. 1966. Winner.

Ferrari had, by 1965, totally dominated Le Mans, winning outright in 1958, 60, 61, 62, 63 and 64. Strangely, all the factory P2 prototypes failed in the 65 race, but Ferrari honours were upheld by a NART entered 250LM driven by Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory.

By 1965, the 250LM was a bit long in the tooth - being essentially a closed roof version of the 250P and P2 prototypes which had been winning since 1963.
