Porsche 917K. 1970. Winner.

The Stuttgart entered 917K was an unexpected winner after the faster long tailed variants and a flotilla of Ferrari 512s all ran into various troubles. The car could only qualify 15th fastest, but after 24 hours of hard racing - often in treacherous conditions, the car came home in first place. This was historically significant as it marked Porsche's first outright win at Le Mans.

This version was presented in a red and white livery, representing both Austria and Shell and was driven by Richard Atwood and Hans Herrmann.
