Jaguar XJR-9 LM. 1988.

After 4 years of trying, Jaguar finally managed to break the 7 years of Porsche stranglehold on Le Mans. The previous evolutions had consistently fallen short, but in 1988 the Tom Walkingshaw Racing/Silk Cut Jaguars finally triumphed - with the win and a 4th place. All the rest of the top ten places were Porsches.

The winning car was driven by Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries and Andy Wallace.
