McLaren F1 GTR. 1995.
The 1995 race was one of the wettest ever recorded - with almost 17 hours of rain. The eventual winner was the no.59 McLaren F1 GTR which was entered, along with a number of other McLarens, Ferraris, Corvettes, Honda NSXs and Porsches, in the GT1 category. The Hokusai Aihatsu Racing entered McLaren triumphed - beating all the LMP1 and LMP2 cars and McLaren F1s eventually filled 4 of the top 5 places.
The winning car scored a number of firsts - first win for McLaren (at its first attempt), first win by a Finnish driver and a first win by a Japanese driver. The car was driven by J.J. Lehto, Yannick Dallas and Masanori Sekiya.
